Top 10 Debt Counsellors
The Debt Review Awards peer review process not only identified the individual or practice that received the highest overall ratings; it also identified over 50 of the highest rated debt counsellors in South Africa who are setting the tone for the industry this year.

The online peer review also allowed those NCR registered within the industry as credit providers or debt counsellors to rate and review the performance of the 4 registered Payment Distribution Agents (PDAs)
The highest rated credit providers in various types or categories were compared with their competition and identified (in regard to debt review specifically). In some cases credit providers make use of specialist service providers. If this was the case then these external companies were considered.

Payment Distribution
The Payment Distribution categories are split between Payment Distribution as reviewed by credit providers and by debt counsellors. In 2021, there are currently only 4 NCR registered PDAs and these were reviewed by credit providers as well as the debt counsellors. Debt counsellors only reviewed the PDAs they work with each month.

Credit providers are divided into various categories such as Short Term Finance, Retail Finance, Large Non Bank Credit Providers, Vehicle Finance and banks are considered both in Secured and Unsecured Credit.
This year Standard Bank once again had a very strong showing taking home several awards.
